Snails

Garden snails are a real scourge: they cause serious damage because they can "steal" the newly planted seeds, or eat the newly sprouted seedlings. With some natural methods you will be able to protect your garden and your garden from their attack by getting rid of their presence. The action of the snails is recognized because the leaves are chewed up: usually the snails leave at night or in conditions of good humidity, leaving a trail of mucus as they pass. Snails are disturbed by contact with copper, so an effective remedy is to position wires around crops to keep these invertebrates away. The same effect is obtained with coffee grounds, ash and egg shells.
Alternatively it is possible to capture them by placing a container full of bran or leaves, in which the snails will enter to eat. This way you can collect them the next morning.
Chemistry
A chemical remedy to be used carefully is the metaldehyde-based chemical bait that has a dehydrating action against snails. It is a fast and effective method but, we repeat, it must be treated with care because it is harmful to edible plants and also to any animals in the vicinity that could ingest it and poison it.
A disadvantage is that wet baits do not work, so every time you water or rain a new application is needed.
